Why should I choose Security Alarm Guru?
As I stated on the About page, The Guru is not really a person, it is an experienced collection of Basics, Tips, Tricks, Mistakes, Information, and overall "What it Takes" Knowledge of the Security Industry.
I am just the guy that brings this all together.
I've spent most of my career helping companies design, install, and maintain residential, commercial, and industrial electronic notification and control equipment.
Now I'm making "The Guru" available to Homeowners, Renters, and "Starting" Alarm Companies. And you stay in control.
Can I have my Do It Yourself Kit Monitored?
Your alarm kit from Security Alarm Guru, can be monitored by virtually any legitimate alarm company. I only deal with quality manufacturers that are known throughout the professional security industry.
I offer award winning, UL Listed, 24 hour central station monitoring for all of my Do It Yourself Kits, at affordable prices, without long term auto-renewing contracts.
**Monitoring is not required. It is an option that I offer.
If you do not want to have Security Alarm Guru monitor your alarm kit, and would like another company to do it instead. The Guru will be happy to assist you in this as well. You can even "unlock" your system, so that they can program the communicator, then you can "relock" it so that they can never lock you out of your own system.
You Control Your Security!
Can I get the Personal Emergency Reporting System without monitoring?
A Personal Emergency "Reporting" System would not do anyone any good without being monitored. In truth it is basically free, it is the monitoring that is being purchased. I offer a lifetime warranty on the equipment for as long as the monitoring is current. The monitoring on this item is paid annually in advance with no auto-renewing contract.
This is a special that I run in order to offer simple peace of mind to America's Seniors. This is a great service for a great price! Feel free to check and see what other alarm companys charge for PERS monitoring with 2-Way Voice.
What is a Passive Infrared Detector (PIR), and Where Should I Install It?
Commonly known as a "Motion Detector", a PIR “looks for” more than just motion to cause an alarm condition. Put simply, it detects the movement of an intruder's heat signature, rather than the movement of their body. A "Pet Immune" Motion is designed to distinguish the difference in the pattern of the heat signature. For ex...ample; a horizontal pattern as opposed to a vertical pattern.
A motion detector is commonly mounted between 7 and 8 feet high (some devices vary, always read product documentation), and can be placed in the corner of a room or mounted flat against the wall. They should not be pointed directly at open stairways, heating/air vents, or large picture windows. They should be placed so that they “watch” likely paths of travel, and work best when the intruder crosses the field of vision.
Does your security system save you money?
Many Alarm Companies will tell you that you can save up to 20% off of your Homeowner's Insurance by installing an alarm in your home.
The fact is that many Insurance Companies will only give you the discount if the Security System is Monitored by a certified monitoring station, and includes monitored smoke detectors.
What Should I Know about Carbon Monixide (CO) Detectors?
Carbon Monoxide Detectors have a lifespan of about 5 years. This includes the units that you just plug into an electrical outlet. The technology that a Carbon Monoxide Detector uses will break down over time. This is normal. Make sure that your Carbon Monoxide Detectors are up to date. When it comes to the safety of your family, don't take unnecessary risks.
I live in an apartment. Can I install a security system without voiding my lease?
A common thing that I have heard from renters id that they can't have a security system because it would break thier lease.
This is NOT true, I have Do It Yourself Kits that will not break your lease, and you can give your landlord his/her own security code in case they needed to enter while you were not there. The system will even keep an event log, then you would know when they were there, as well as when they left.
I'm talking about State of the Art technology in an affordable Do It Yourself Kit, that is truly wireless, and is no more invasive than hanging a mirror on the wall.
You can also add Smoke Detection, Carbon Monoxid Detection, and Flood Detection.
Do you have Closeouts and Special Sales?
Yes. With the way the eCrater stores are set up I cannot run Closeouts & Special Sales in a way to make them easily visible. So I have another eCrater store that I use for this purpose.
is the URL to this store.
Here you will find many new and used items, as well a SAG closeouts and special sales.
Also at YSG I carry great, NEW learning toys from Uncle Milton, Leapfrog, Vtech, and More.
Why can't I click on the links at your store?
My store is located withing the eCrater community, while this is a wonderful benefit, it does have a few limitations.
If I give you a URL to another page, store, or web, you will need to copy and past it into your browser.
My eCrater stores are not much more than a Shopping Cart, this allows you to purchase multiple items at one time, taking advantage of discounted shipping.
If you would like more information on products, or you would like a more "Graphical" interface, feel free to visit my main website at:
Why do your pages show so few sales?
This is a double edged sword! I have been in the Security and Electronics industry for a very long time, but my eCrater stores are brand new.
Not all of my business is done through eCrater, as much of it is done Face to Face, or over the phone.
I used to have a store on eBay, where I maintained 100% positive feedback for many years. With the eCommerce market and the continuous rise in fees, I finally decided to move to a new Venue. So for a while I will have to deal with the low number of sales being listed in my store.
If you need more confidence about dealing with me, feel free to call me directly to ask any questions you have.
